Last time I shared some keyboard shortcuts that will help you delete text quickly. What if you wanted to add some text in the middle of a sentence? Of course you can use your mouse and move the insertion pointer (the blinking vertical bar) to the place you want by double clicking. You can also move the insertion pointer with your keyboard and that is usually much quicker.

  • arrow keys = move the insertion pointer by one unit in the four directions
  • alt + left/right arrow keys = move the insertion pointer before/after by one word
  • alt + up/down arrow keys = move the insertion pointer to the beginning/end of the current paragraph
